Terms & Conditions

This page collects Gathering Storm Music’s policies, terms and conditions for the use of this site, payment, and attendance at our concerts and events. If you have any questions, please contact us.

We require you to register with your real first and last name and give a working email address. Eventbrite will email you a personalized link to the concert. Family members in your home and people in your Covid-19 “pod” can listen in one computer or mobile phone for the price of one ticket, but not people who don’t live with you.

Part of the fun is the informality: A year after the pandemic started, we all still forget to unmute ourselves. Technology is a miracle when it all works, which doesn’t always happen. Children and pets wander in and out of frame. Connections get dropped. Be forgiving. Enjoy the music.

Our technical partners are Squarespace, Eventbrite, and Zoom. Your use of their platforms is governed by their terms and conditions of service, and their cookie and privacy policies.

Age limits: In order for us to comply with Federal law, children under 13 are not allowed to use our website nor to pay for concerts we provide. We urge parents and guardians to monitor what children under 13 do online or while attending any concerts or events, including ours.

Opinions expressed during virtual concerts are solely the personal views of the artists or participants and do not necessarily represent those of Gathering Storm Music, its sponsors, advertisers, owners, or employees, nor any past, present, or future employer or organization to which any of us are associated or affiliated. Our artists, emcees, or participants apologize in advance to anyone who feels offended by anything said, sung, or done at our concerts.

The emcee may ask if you’d like to ask the artist a polite question: If so, you should expect to be onscreen—you’ll need to turn your own microphone on.

You consent to be recorded: While the performing artists are the main focus, the virtual concert and Gathering Storm Music’s recording of it will include occasional “gallery” views of those in attendance, including the ticketholder and anyone in camera and microphone range during the virtual concert. By purchasing a ticket, the ticketholder consents that Gathering Storm Music, the performing artists, and their respective agents, publicists, and assignees, (1) are sharing the audio and visual content of this virtual concert with others viewing it, and (2) may record this virtual concert for later viewing on YouTube or other digital platforms. Purchasing a ticket, logging into the event, and being in range of your camera and microphone constitute consent for anyone in view of the camera and microphone to be recorded under 18 U.S. Code § 2511 and any applicable federal, state, local, and foreign laws.

Behave as if you’re a guest in someone else’s home: Most artists are performing from their home studio or a room in their house. Most everyone else is at home. While this website and the concert are not intended for children under 13, mind your manners—assume children are present unless the emcee announces otherwise. Gathering Storm Music has a digital bouncer that will drop from the event anyone we consider to be misbehaving. We are the sole decisionmaker of what we consider misbehaving.

Artists, performers, composers, and publishers retain their rights, but Gathering Storm Music, artists, and performers may use recordings of concerts in advertising and publicity materials without additional compensation. Artists and participants agree that Gathering Storm Music may use images, video, and sounds recorded during our concerts and events on our website, social media sites, or for advertising and publicity purposes, and similarly that the artists and performers may use images, video, and sounds recorded by Gathering Storm Music in their own websites, social media sites, or for advertising and publicity purposes. No artist or participant is entitled to additional compensation or consideration for appearing in such images, video, or sound recording.

You may not record our concerts. This is required for legal reasons under the U.S. and international copyright laws. Search the web for the terms “sync license” and “mechanical license” to understand why this is the law. To get a CD or digital copy of songs performed at Gathering Storm Music concerts, contact the artists directly through their social media sites, or go through your online music and streaming services.

Refund policy: If the concert is cancelled, or the artists cannot appear for technical reasons, Gathering Storm Music will refund the ticket price paid less the service charge Eventbrite charges us for processing the transaction. In other cases, given our low ticket price, Gathering Storm Music will not be able to refund ticket prices. See Terms and Conditions for further information.

Cookies and Privacy Policy: If you use our website, buy tickets, or attend our concerts or events, you agree to accept our Cookies and Privacy Policy. We use as technical partners Squarespace, Eventbrite, and Zoom, each of which has its own privacy policy you can access when you are using their websites as part of a Gathering Storm Music concert or event. You provide information through those sites, or we receive it from cookies on your device (see above). If we include a survey on our website, we will use the information you provide us to improve our events. Apart from the information collected by our partners or from surveys, Gathering Storm Music does not collect any additional information about you. The information from our partners will include your real first and last name, your email address, and how you paid for a ticket.
